{Customer Interview} Keri Loses 56lbs With The New You Plan

keriberry1Hello, my name is Keri Berry I live in Salford, Manchester. I’m currently a stay at home mum with 2 children aged 7 and 9. I was working in housing for 15 years but I took redundancy last Sept which spurred me onto losing my weight and making a new me! We spend a lot of time at the weekends as a family going out to events and eating in restaurants.

 

Tell us about when you started the plan

 

1. What moment or event started your weight loss journey?

 

Leaving my job after 15 years was a major decision especially with no job to go too. It had been a very stressful 6 months and I’d put about 2 st on in that time. I wanted to start a new chapter in my life and losing weight seemed the next logical step.

 

2. How did you hear about us?

 

I have used new you before about 5 years ago but only for a very short period. It was very different then.

 

3. What made you decide to join The New You Plan?

 

I wanted a vlcd to speed things up and I’d tried new you before.

 

4. What plan have you been following through The New You Plan, Fast Focus, Fresh Focus or Family Focus?

 

I’d say I’ve not really been 100% throughout. Maybe 90%. I find myself nibbling on very small blips on nearly a daily basis and at the weekend it’s more family focus. That’s why it’s been a slow journey so far I know. I wish I could just be 100% for a week! I always do my 4ltrs water at least though and I’ve had about 4 planned weeks off plan.

 

5. Why did you choose the plan option ie Fast focus?

 

I feel I need to structure to keep me focused and sticking with the tiny blips rather than completely losing it. I’ve still not got a grip on my mindset.

 

6. How long have you been on the plan?

 

Nearly 8 months.

 

7. How much weight have you lost?

 

4 st exactly – wooohooooo

 

8. How many jean sizes have you lost?

 

I’ve gone from a 16/18 to a 12

Tell us about what you enjoyed while doing the plan

 

1. How has the support of the New You team helped you?

2. Tell us what meals you enjoyed and why

 

I like all the meals I think! They’ve all grown on me. I’m not keen on the curry but I mix it with the omelette and it’s gorgeous. I’ve never really made the recipes such as nom noms etc but I always have some jelly in the fridge.

 

3. What was your daily menu- please provide breakfast lunch dinner tea and favourite snack?

 

I usually try to exercise in the morning so would have a shake after this about 11.30 am. Then usually a double meal about 8pm and then a bar to nibble on. My fav snack are the wafers. I could easily eat 3 or 4 of them in one go! (But I don’t of course!)

 

4. Would you recommend customers to join secret slimmers?

 

Yes. I don’t always participate but I do catch up daily and everyone is so supportive of each other and shares info to help each other along their journeys.

6. Did you enter the weight loss challenges ie leader board?

 

I did enter most of the recent ones. They do help the first few weeks but then I seem to lose my way a bit!

Tell us about how you feel now?

 

1. How do you feel now after losing your weight?

 

I feel so much more confident. So much sexier and happier. I’m happy to be out with friends or having fun in the park with the kids.

 

2. What weight are you now?

 

I am a happy weight of 11st 1lb.

 

3. What dress size are you now?

 

I am now wearing a size 12

 

4. Have you reached your goal?

 

No. I’d like to be 9st 10lb. I’m not sure why really I just have the figure in my head.

 

5. If you have not reached your goal what is your goal and how much more do you want to lose?

 

9st10lb but I’d like another st and then see how I’m feeling at that.

 

6. How has your weight loss impacted positively on your ever day life?

 

I used to have sore heels and feet a lot and I don’t now. I can run around the park being silly with the kids and not feel so self conscious. I can wear my small clothes again and feel confident and sexy instead of trying to cover up all the time.

 

7.What was the nicest compliment you received since reaching your weight loss goal or current weight loss?

 

A friend said they hardly recognised me the other day. My little boy was very pleased when he realised he could get his arms all the way round my waist.

 

8. Do you feel your mindset has changed with following the plan for example do you feel you have a better understanding of food and this will help you not to go back to old habits?

 

I feel much more confident this time round. I had lost a similar amount of weight in 2009 but I’d put it all back on over time. I know now the choices I need to make and that I can ease myself back into healthy eating using NY packs and maintain my weight. I’m much better at dealing with triggers and telling myself no when I’m stood looking in the fridge!

Slow and steady wins the race. You haven’t failed if you don’t give up.

 

2. If you were to give advice to anyone considering starting a weight loss journey, what would you say?

 

Others stories are an inspiration and a motivation but your story won’t be the same as theirs because you are not the same as them. Take each day as it comes and keep going.

 

3. What tips would you offer someone who is thinking about starting their weight loss journey but has not yet made the decision to join the new you plan?
